Santos vs Cosmos
Friday 18th May 2012
Santos have it all to play for in their final PSL clash of the season against Jomo Cosmos at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

The Mother City outfit are 15th in the standings, but could leapfrog Black Leopards with a victory over Cosmos to avoid the relegation play-offs, should Lidoda Duvha fail to beat Ajax Cape Town.

Leopards are two points clear of the People's Team, who have a superior goal difference.

Santos come into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with AmaZulu while their last league win was the 2-1 result against Kaizer Chiefs in April.

"We definitely have to get the three points. I think it is not in our hands about whether we go into the play-offs or not," the club's leading goal scorer Eleazar Rodgers told SuperSport.

"The game against Cosmos last night [Wednesday] we thought we were out and of course Cosmos came back, so I think anything is possible in the last game.

"We are going to have to go in there and work hard and get the results."

Meanwhile, Jomo Sono's troops have already been relegated as they lie at the bottom of the standings after managing only two wins all season.

Their last chance of survival was extinguished by Leopards following their 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

However, Sono, who has already turned his attention to next season, is confident he can get his side back into the top flight on the first attempt.

"We are keeping the coach (because) I'm the only person who can get Cosmos back into the Premiership," he told the Sowetan.

"Even Jose Mourinho would not survive. Cosmos will be back in the Premiership shortly."
